Selena Green joined Santa Fe Bands as Guard Caption Head in fall of 2022. Her introduction to the world of marching band and guard was in junior high school, where she played flute and piccolo, and performed as a Letterette. She went on to become Captain of her high school Colorguard, and played flute in her high school Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. After graduating high school in 2002, she went on to teach guard at several schools in the Sweetwater Union High School District, and in 2007, established the dance program at Olympian High School.
Guards under Mrs. Green's director have earned numerous accolades, including 1st division placements in street, field, and indoor contests. Her indoor guards have earned Gold Medals at the WGASC Championships on three separate occasions; in 2006, 2007, and 2009. Mrs. Green is an active teacher, clinician and judge, and currently serves as a judge for both field and parade contests with SCSBOA (Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association.
Mrs. Green holds an A.A. Degree in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physical Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. She also holds a single subject teaching credential for Physical Education and Dance in both California and New Mexico.
